The Ministry of Defense of the Netherlands has announced the transfer of 24 F-16 aircraft to Ukraine, which were removed from weapons. This decision has become a significant step in supporting Ukraine in the face of a continuing conflict and emphasizes the readiness of the international community to help the country in strengthening its defense capability.
“The F-16 era ended for the Air Force, but not for the F-16. Of those devices that have not been sold or written off, 14 of the promised 18 are now in Romania. Here are prepared fighter pilots, not only Romanian, but also Ukrainian. And the Netherlands give Ukraine the last F-16 to fight the Russians, ”the message reads.
Before sending the planes, they made the last flight over the cities of the country, noting 45 years of continuous work in the Air Force.
The department reported that the Armed Forces of the Netherlands have switched to more modern F-35 fighters.
