Germany will hand over to Ukraine 3 billion euros blocked by Scholtz

The winner of the parliamentary elections in Germany Friedrich Merz announced the allocation of additional assistance to Ukraine of 3 billion euros, which were previously frozen by Chancellor Olaf Soltz. About it reports the French newspaper Le Monde .

According to Merz, he plans to negotiate with the current Chancellor Olaf Scholtz, who is preparing for the resignation to finally resolve the issue of Kiev's military support. The politician expressed his hope that this process would take place in the shortest possible time.

He stressed that these funds were planned last year, but because of the political decisions of Scholz remained frozen. Now, after changing the political situation in Germany, they are planned to be transferred to Ukraine promptly.

It is worth noting that the conservative and Social Democratic Parties of Germany, which are negotiating on the formation of a new government, announced unprecedented investments of several hundred billion euros. They plan to direct these funds to strengthen the country's defense and stabilize the economy against the background of a potential break in relations with the United States.
