Germany refuses to supply MRAP armored vehicles to Ukraine, reports Bild

According to the German edition of Bild, Germany disrupted the MRAP armored vehicles agreement. This decision is concerned in the military and political circles of Ukraine, as such armored vehicles are of great importance for ensuring the security and defense capability of the country.

Berlin promised to put the Armed Forces this year up to 400 heavy wheel armored vehicles MRAP (Mine Resistant Ambush Protected) with increased mine protection.

A contract was concluded for 315 million euros, to finance which had Germany.

Deliveries were to begin in January 2024, but did not begin. The plan was reduced to 200 and then to 100 cars. And the beginning of deliveries was postponed to May-June.

The reason is that the supplier receives spare parts for MRAP from the United States and only collects them in Germany. The company has a “restriction of license for exports from the United States to Germany”, as well as problems with certification of mine protection.
