In the territory of the Dubensky district in the Rivne region of Ukraine, a new subjective of the strain of the Covid-19 Omnicron, which was called "Arctur" was discovered. This version of the virus was first discovered in India in January 2023, and it has already begun to spread actively in different countries.
The Arcturus is characterized by increased contagion, which exceeds the infectiousness of another similar Kraken strain 1.2 times. The symptoms caused by this variant of the virus include typical features of Covid-19, such as fever, cough, sore throat and muscle weakness. In addition, this subspecies "Arctur" causes an unusual symptom - itchy conjunctivitis (pink eye) and a feeling of stickiness in the eyes.
It should be emphasized that the World Health Organization has evaluated the “degree of danger” of this strain as low. The head of the Rivne Regional State Administration, Vitaliy Koval, has called for vaccination, especially among people over 65, to reduce the risks of the disease.
