Olaf Scholz visited Central Asia for the first time

German Chancellor Olaf Scholtz visited Central Asia for the first time, which became an important event under his foreign policy. The main purpose of the visit, according to Bloomberg, is to solve the problem of labor shortages in Germany by attracting migrant workers from Central Asian countries.

The first chancellor visited Uzbekistan, where he signed a number of migration and trade agreements, in particular about the supply of copper and the involvement of Uzbek workers in Germany.

Then Scholz arrived in Kazakhstan, where he will also meet with the presidents of Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan.

“The Scholz trip is part of the wider impetus to strengthen ties with Central Asia countries in industries such as industry, energy and environment, as well as security and defense. It is also important for continuing efforts to diversify the energy sources and raw materials of Germany, ”Bloomberg comments.
