This new category will appear for the first time on the 100th Oscar Anniversary Ceremony, which will take place in 2028. The reward for achievements in the field of cascade skills will be presented for films that will be released in 2027.
By this time, cascaders and their achievements were mainly noted for special awards. One example is the reward, which was received by the cascade by which cannon in 1967, as well as a reward, awarded Nidem Gel in 2013. However, now the Academy has decided to provide these professionals with an official category, which will allow the real masters of tricks to be recognized among other cinematic achievements.
