In an interview for Oboz.ua, the famous Ukrainian actor Ostap Stupka spoke about his children from his third marriage and explained why he considers it important that they choose their own professions.
Ostap Stupka admitted that he supports the idea of independent choice of life path for his children. The actor shared what his children do — 24-year-old Ustyna and 17-year-old Bohdan — and how he feels about their decisions. According to Ostap Stupka, his eldest daughter Ustyna is already an adult and independent person. She studied in Poland, where she graduated from the University of Lodz with a degree in "international cultural studies", and now lives in Kyiv. The actor joked that, although Ustina has already reached maturity, the question of marriage is not on the agenda yet: "She has enough sense, she laughs," he said. As for Bohdan's 17-year-old son, he has not yet decided on the final choice of profession. According to Ostap, Bohdan is inclined towards several directions, and all of them are related to creativity. The actor emphasized that this is an important stage for his son, because right now he is thinking about how to build his future. Ostap Stupka also shared his position on whether he wants his children to follow his path and become actors. The actor emphasized that he has always been a supporter of the idea that children should choose their own path: "I have always been a supporter of the idea that children should choose what they want from life. And telling them where to go is not in my rules." He accepted this position in his youth, when he entered the theater university. Ostap admitted that even his father, the legendary actor Bohdan Stupka, did not know about his decision to enter the theater university. "My father did not know at all that I was entering the theater school. Only my mother knew," the actor shared.
Ostap Stupka also recalled a funny moment from his personal life. When he married a second time, his parents did not know about it. The actor said that, wanting to make a surprise for the New Year, he pulled out a wedding invitation from under the tree. The father's reaction was emotional: "Dad shouted: 'Are you crazy?'" Ostap laughs.
The actor emphasizes that he will support any choice of his children and will be there for them at all stages of their lives. It is important that they decide for themselves what is best for them.
