Negotiations of delegations of the United States and Russia on the end of the war in Ukraine are planned to be held in the capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh, on Monday, March 24. This was reported by the Assistant to the Russian President of International Affairs Yuri Ushakov on Thursday, March 20.
According to Ushakov, he spent a telephone conversation with the US Presidential Advisor Mike Volts, during which they agreed to hold bilateral consultations. “We have agreed with Mr. Volts that consultations on this bilateral format will be conducted by experts appointed by the Presidents. These consultations will be held on Monday, March 24 in Riyadh, ”Ushakov said.
The negotiations from the Russian side will be attended by the Chairman of the Committee of the Council of International Affairs Hryhoriy Karasin and Advisor to the FSB Director Sergey Besed. Ushakov emphasized that they are "experienced negotiations who are well known on international issues."
The purpose of the negotiations, according to Ushakov, will be to discuss the security of navigation in the Black Sea. Earlier, the Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated this.
In addition, Ushakov emphasized that he regularly communicates with the volume, considering it "very useful for both parties." "We hope that the consultations that should be on Monday will be productive," Ushakov summed up.
