As part of a meeting of the heads of the Defense Agency of the Alliance, scheduled for January 17-18, a meeting of the Chiefs of General Staff in the format of Ukraine-NATO will be held for the first time, NATO press service reported.
It is noted that high -ranking NATO representatives and the Military Committee will hold personal consultations on January 17 and 18 in Brussels. Admiral Rob Bauer, chairman of the Military Committee, will be presented at the meeting. The event will be attended by the leaders of the General Staffs of the Alliance, as well as their colleague from Sweden. The Supreme Commander -in -Chief of the United NATO Armed Forces in Europe will also join the discussion in Europe, Christopher Cavoli and the NATO Supreme Commander -in -Chief, NATO's transformation, General Philip Lavin.
The meeting will discuss strategic importance, key priorities and calls for the Alliance. Also on the agenda - discussion of the defense industry, operational planning and provision and military transformation of NATO.
"During the first meeting of the General Staff in the format of the Ukraine-NATO Council, planned for the final part of the first day, the aggressive military campaign of Russia against Ukraine, the situation on the forefront and further support of Ukraine by NATO and the Alliance will be discussed," the statement reads.
The next day, the representatives of the defense agencies will meet with colleagues from Australia, Austria, Ireland, New Zealand and Switzerland.
