Increasing military fees to 5% will allow the state budget to receive an additional up to nine billion hryvnias on a monthly basis. This was reported by the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy Danilo Getmantsev in an interview for News.Live. At the same time, he stressed that such an increase is a temporary measure introduced only for the martial law.
"We have made an increase only to martial law. If it is completed, there is no need to make any decisions - these 3.5%, which we have raised, are automatically flying.
According to the new law, the rate of military levy for individuals increases from 1.5% to 5%. This rate applies to wages, bank deposits, real estate leases, winnings and other sources of income. The exception is the servicemen for whom the increase does not work.
Increasing military levy is an important tool for financing the country's defense capability, but after the war will automatically return to the previous level. This emphasizes the temporary nature of changes and avoids additional financial pressure on citizens in peacetime.
