A Labrador discovered his owner's breast cancer and saved her life, prompting the creation of a cancer-saving charity.
Claire Guest from Great Britain took her three dogs for a walk. Two of them jumped out of the trunk, but Daisy the Labrador stayed put. His disinterest changed as he began to nudge his owner's chest with his muzzle.
At first, Claire did not pay attention to the dog's strange behavior and pushed it out of the trunk. However, during the game, Claire felt Daisy's touch on her chest area, which caught her attention. So she discovered a lump-like formation in the mammary gland.
After consulting a doctor, Claire received a diagnosis of a malignant tumor. The doctor emphasized that the tumor was detected in time, as it had already begun to grow aggressively. Any delay would render the operation ineffective.
After successful treatment, Claire founded Medical Detection Dogs, a women's cancer charity. She is sure that "cancer has a smell", and otherwise it is difficult to explain how the dog Daisy managed to detect her tumor.
