Peter Pellegrini, the newly elected President of Slovakia, served the oath and officially joined June 15.
The inauguration ceremony was held in the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra, where a symbolic meeting of parliament took place. Peter Pellegrini has been authorized from the previous presidential President of Zuzana Chaputova in front of about 400 guests.
In his first speech as a president, Pellegrini condemned a recent attempt to Prime Minister Robert Fitzo and called for peace and unification of society. Official measures on the occasion of the inauguration will last until Saturday evening, including a solemn Mass and a military parade in Bratislava.
Pellegrini plans its first international appearance on June 17, presenting Slovakia at an informal meeting of EU leaders in Brussels. He also plans his first foreign trip to the Czech Republic on June 26.
