The Taiwan military recorded the second case of the detection of Chinese balloons for two days near the Taiwanese Strait. The Taiwan Ministry of Defense reported this event on the social network, emphasizing China's military activity in the region.
The Taiwanese military noted that the balloon was discovered at 9:09 am Monday, when it crossed the middle line of the strait, which is an unofficial border between the island and the mainland. This incident has become two in two days and the third since the beginning of December.
The bullet, which approached 124 km to the northern port of Kunglung in Taiwan, moved along the duct at an altitude of about 4570 meters for more than two hours. Having disappeared from the field of view at 11:52, its route aroused the interest of the Taiwanese military.
Representatives of the Taiwan Ministry of Defense have suggested that it could be a conventional meteorological balloon designed to collect weather data. However, given the previous cases, it is possible that these balloons are used to explore the Taiwan Defense Forces.
Last day, Taiwan also observed China's activity, which included 4 battle aircraft and 3 Navy ships. However, they did not cross the midline of the duct and did not approach the island.
It should be noted that the decrease in China's military activity near Taiwan has been recorded since November, but given the approach of the Taiwan presidential and parliamentary elections, analysts believe that Beijing is trying to influence the results of the vote.
