In Ukraine, a significant increase in the tariff for gas transportation is planned, which may increase by 2-4 times - up to UAH 501.97 per 1,000 cubic meters per day. However, these changes will not affect household consumers and will affect only the business segment.
As Oleksandr Kharchenko, director of the Energy Research Center, explains, the increase in prices is due to the cessation of transit of Russian gas. Previously, transit payments compensated the costs of gas transportation, but now these funds will have to be replaced by other sources.
The price for businesses will depend on the gas transportation distance and will range from 65 to 84 kopecks. At the same time, Kharchenko noted that even large enterprises that consume significant volumes of gas will not feel a significant difference. According to him, the change in the tariff "will not affect the work of enterprises", since this increase in the overall price of gas will remain insignificant.
It should be emphasized that the price of gas for household consumers will remain unchanged, and there is no reason to worry at the moment.
