North Korean soldiers crossed the border and provoked a firefight with South Korea

On the border between South Korea and North Korea there was another incidental shooting through the crossing of the border by North Korean soldiers. According to the South Korean Agency, Yonhap, which refers to the Joint Committee of South Korea headquarters, soldiers from North Korea, who operated in the demilitarized area between countries, violated the border again.

South Korean defenders were forced to make warning shots into the air after the North Korean soldiers crossed the border and then returned to their side. This was the second case of border violation by North Korea less than two weeks after a similar incident on June 9.

According to JCS, approximately 20-30 North Korean soldiers crossed a military demarcation line within the demilitarized zone (DMZ) at the center of the border.

The JCS representatives noted that these actions are likely to reflect the internal control measures by the North Korean military, aimed at preventing attempts to cross the border with a military and civilian population.
