The European Internal Market Commission has announced the launch of the Defense Innovation Office in Kiev. This was made by the European Commissar of Tierry Breton during the EU-Ukraine Defense Industry Forum, which took place on Monday.
Breton stressed that the new EU strategy in the field of defense industry is aimed at strengthening cooperation between European and Ukrainian defense sectors. He noted that the purpose of this initiative is to promote an innovative exchange between EU startups and Ukrainian companies to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Minister for Strategic Industry of Ukraine Oleksandr Kamyshin noted that work is already working with the formation of tasks and structure of the future office.
The Chairman of the European Union Diplomacy Josep Borrel expressed the opinion that EU countries should have been weaponed from Ukrainian producers and transfer it for military support to Ukraine.
In February, the President of the European Commission Ursula Fon Der Lien announced the opening of the Defense Innovation Office in Kiev.
