Poland has announced the creation of the Defense and Security Fund, which will become the first in Europe. Its total amount will be $ 7.8 billion, said the Minister of Finance and Regional Policy Katazin Pelchinskaya-Nalench on the social network X.
"Officially: Poland is the first in Europe to create a defense and security fund within KPO. We will put billions in shelter, double-purpose infrastructure and development of Polish weapons companies," Pelchinskaya-Nalench wrote.
This fund will be an important step in strengthening Poland's defense capability. In addition, the country plans to significantly develop the domestic industry, as well as to actively explore new technologies for safety.
The investment plan for this fund will be developed within two months with the participation of the Ministry of Defense and other state agencies. This will determine the priorities and areas that require the highest investment.
Earlier it was reported that Poland will bring 30 billion zlotys to the Fund, which is about $ 7.8 billion or 7.2 billion euros. The creation of this fund was the answer to the need to strengthen national security against the background of the current geopolitical situation in Europe.
