Poland has taken the initiative to apply for Nuclear Sharing, which provides for the placement of US nuclear weapons in its territory. This was announced by Deputy Defense Minister of Poland Pavel Zalevsky during a speech on local television.
Zalevsky noted that Poland considers this step strategically important to ensure its safety and stability in the region. The placement of US nuclear weapons in the country can be an additional element of strategic partnership between Poland and the United States, as well as play an important role in ensuring NATO's defense capability in Central and Eastern Europe.
The Deputy Defense Minister of Poland also stressed that this step is a signal of Poland's determination to become an active participant in international efforts to strengthen collective defense capability and ensure peace and stability in Europe.
"We are talking about a program called Nuclear Sharing. It is a NATO program, but a solution and a complete control over the use of nuclear weapons, which would be placed in Poland, would be adopted by Americans. Recalled, ”Zalevsky said.
Earlier, President Anzhay Duda said he was ready to go to his nuclear weapons on his territory. Prime Minister Tusk criticized it.
And NATO stated that they did not have plans for the placement of nuclear forces in Poland.
