The Polish government has introduced new rules that limit the organization of protests at the border with Ukraine. According to the decision, the border infrastructure is now considered critical, which makes it impossible to block the border in the future. As the blacksmith explained, the updated rules aim to reduce the inconvenience for protests related to citizens. In particular, expanding the list of critical infrastructure allows the authorities to act within the law to restrict such shares.
He also stressed that farmers often seek opportunities for organizing government pressure, but the governments of countries seek to minimize their influence.
Previous blockages of the Polish-Ukrainian border organized by Polish farmers took place last year from February to April. Farmers demanded that agricultural products from Ukraine, as well as the refusal of Poland from the European green course, demanded.
Koval stressed that this year there were no such problems at the border. New restrictions are aimed at preventing similar situations in the future.
