The rebels are capturing new territories and approaching Hama in Syria

Opposition forces in Syria continue their offensive against the government troops of Bashar al -Assad. After successful battles for Aleppo, the rebels came close to the hams - one of the largest cities in the country.

According to the Syrian Observatory on Human Rights, the insurgents seized several settlements north of the city, including the village of Maar-Shahur. At the same time, Syrian state media reports arrival in the area, which indicates the plans of the regime to stop the offensive.

Hamu attack creates additional pressure on Bashar Assad, whose government is maintained by the support of Russia and Iran. The hama remains under the control of government forces from the very beginning of the Civil War in 2011, and its loss will be a serious blow to the regime.

The offensive also reflects the strengthening of insurgent forces, which continue to resist despite the significant military support that Syria receives from their allies.
