On December 21, the new European European Supercomputer Marenostrum 5 was presented in Spain, which promises a striking speed of 314 Petaaflops, equivalent to 314 trillions of operations per second. This supercomputer will be a well -deserved place among the ten most powerful computers in the world.

Marenostrum 5, the most recent European supercomputer, was officially represented in Barcelona, Spain. According to the existing rating, it entered the elite club of the most powerful supercomputers in the world. It is planned that it will be operated at the Barcelona Supercomputer Center and will be used for scientific and industrial research since March 2024.

The European Commission has noted that Marenostrum 5 is not only a list of the most powerful computers in the world, but is also distinguished by its high energy efficiency and use of renewable energy sources. The heat that will be produced during its operation will be used to heat the room where the supercomputer is located.
