Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan warned of Azerbaijan's attempts to start a new conflict in the region, commenting on the demand to transfer control over four border villages.
During a meeting with fellow party members, he noted that the Armenian government has never expressed ambitions for these settlements.
"In particular, in the light of what is obvious to us, Azerbaijan is looking for reasons to start a new, large-scale war in the region," Pashinyan emphasized.
He also noted the importance for the government to emphasize Armenia's borders and expressed the hope that Azerbaijan would also follow this principle.
It is mentioned that Azerbaijan announced the return of four border villages that have been under the control of Armenia since the 1990s. After that, Pashinyan admitted that these settlements are not part of the territory of Armenia.
After Azerbaijan regained full control over Nagorno-Karabakh, clashes between the two countries periodically occur with weapons and casualties.
In addition, Baku and Yerevan are conducting peace talks, the last series of which took place in Berlin with the mediation of Germany.
