Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum promises a tough response to Donald Trump over the threat of tariffs

Mexico President Claudia Sheynbaum strongly responded to the statement of US President Donald Trump chosen to introduce 25% of duties on Mexico products. She warned that Mexico was ready for symmetrical measures, which could have serious consequences for the economy of both countries.

Sheinbaum, known for its radical views and experience in protest movements, emphasized that Mexico was not ready for concessions. She stated in her speech.

She reminded that large American car manufacturers, including General Motors, have production capacities on both sides of the border, and the introduction of duties will harm not only Mexico but also the United States.

Sheinbaum emphasized that Mexico has already done a lot to stop migrants. According to her, "migrant caravans no longer reach the border." At the same time, she has paid attention to another problem - smuggling of weapons with the United States, which has a negative impact on safety in Mexico.

The president also criticized the US expenses, noting that instead of financing Washington's weapons, funds should be paid in the regional migration.

Experts say that Claudia Sheinbaum is a different leader than her predecessor Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, who avoided conflicts with Trump. Her firm position testifies to Mexico's intention to protect her interests even in difficult relations with the new US administration.
