Georgia Prime Minister, Heraclius Kobakhidze, expressed his belief that all the difficulties between Georgia and the European Union will be overcome, and the country will become a full member of the EU by 2030.
Kobakhidze expressed his position on Europe Day on his Facebook page.
He stated this against the background of critics by the European Union of Intentions of Georgian authorities to approve a disputed law on "inaging".
"I am convinced that all the difficulties associated with the development of the EU and Georgia with the EU will be overcome," Kobakhidze said.
EU membership is the priority of Georgia's foreign policy, he added.
"I believe that Georgia will necessarily become a full member of the European Union by 2030, after which our country, with its unique culture and traditions, will make a significant contribution to the success of the European Union," - said in a statement in the Head of Georgia.
It should be reminded that at a government meeting on April 29, the founder of the party of power, a pro -Russian oligarch Bidzin Ivanishvili, promised that Georgia would become a member of the European Union in 2030.
However, on Tuesday, the EU Ambassadors discussed the intention of the Georgian authorities to approve the disputed project of the Law on "Inaging" and the possible impact of this on the European integration of Georgia. The EU does not exclude the possibility of depriving the Georgia of the visa -free regime if the law is adopted.
Earlier, more than 30 MEPs of the European Parliament were called on to suspend Georgia the status of a candidate for admission to the EU.
