Volodymyr Fesenko proposes to see and analyze whether the high -speed years are already as bad as they are used to talking about them. To do this, let us turn to recent history - both our and world.
The New Year is a time of forecasts, a variety of divination and signs. Demand for professional fortune tellers is increasing - from tarologists to astrologers. They also mention different signs. This is especially noticeable during the war.
One of the common prejudices is the unhappy high -so -so -so -so -so -so -so -so -lin years. Fans of bad signs immediately remember the past high-ranking year-2020, which brought us a Covid-19 pandemic. Accordingly, they herald that 2024 (also a high -level) will bring us something bad.
Are the years really so bad? Let's look at this recent story to answer this question - both ours and world.
I already mentioned about 2020. But 2016 was not distinguished by nothing, except Trump's victory in the US presidential election. Then it turned out that his presidency was very specific, but still did not become catastrophic. If someone says that this high -power year Trump can win again, then I will only remind you that the US presidential election is going on in the high school years. So it happened.
2012 for Ukraine and the world was also not distinguished by something special. We had the most prominent event in the parliamentary elections, which won the Party of Regions, but also noted the opposition, in particular, the Freedom Party, for which that year it became the most successful in its electoral history.
2008 for the world was remembered by the global financial crisis. But we have the peak of this crisis for 2009.
2004 in Ukraine was distinguished by the Orange Revolution. But it was both bloodless and successful. In the world, this year was remembered by a huge tsunami in the Indian Ocean, which resulted in the death of about 230,000 people.
2000 - Millennium. The end of the world did not happen, something extraordinary and globally bad - too. Although there were enough significant events. In Russia, the Second Chechen War and Putin's first victory in the presidential election. We have an all -Ukrainian referendum, the results of which have in no way affected the political situation in the country; The murder of journalist G. Gongadze and the cassette scandal are events that laid the foundations of the following crisis trends.
1996 - something extraordinary has not happened. In Ukraine, the Constitution was approved, in Russia, Yeltsin was elected President of the Russian Federation.
1992 was remembered by numerous wars - in Yugoslavia, Karabakh, Abkhazia and South Ossetia, Transnistria, Civic Wars in Algeria, Tajikistan and a number of countries. But there was also a peaceful "divorce" of the Czech Republic and Slovakia. For Ukraine it was the first year of independence, difficult, but calm enough.
I will not continue. It is enough to understand that not every high-ranking year can bring something bad, like not every Friday 13th is a day of horror. Something can happen somewhere. How can it happen in any other year and bad and positive news. The First and Second World Wars did not begin in the high -sole years. And the landmark events of recent history in relations between Russia and Ukraine did not take place in the high school years, starting with the collapse of the USSR and ending with a full -scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. 2014, by the way, was also not high.
For sports lovers, high -sons years are associated with Olympic Games. In this regard, I will talk about one mystical and conspiracy theory that I heard ten years ago from one former Lithuanian deputy (unfortunately, I do not remember his name). This is not for supporters of purely rational thinking, although many Ukrainians can like this "theory".
The essence of this "theory" in the following. The authoritarian (totalitarian) regimes conducted by the Olympic Games were destroyed after some time, and their countries even disintegrated. It is about Hitler's Germany, which in 1936 held the summer and winter Olympic Games, and in 1945 ceased to exist. Then such a fate befell the Soviet Union (in 1980, the Summer Olympic Games took place in Moscow, in 1991 the USSR ceased to exist) and Yugoslavia (in 1984, winter games took place in Sarajevo, in 1991 the collapse of Yugoslavia began).
However, this "theory" does not fit in (perhaps) Russia (Winter Olympic Games in Sochi in 2014) and China (Summer Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 and Winter Olympic Games in Beijing in 2022). However, we will not hurry with the conclusions, let's see what will happen next.
Finally, a little Christmas political. In the political history of independent Ukraine, the decisive (turning) role was played by the years that ended in the four - 1994 (victory in the presidential elections of Leonid Kuchma, which determined the political development of Ukraine for the next 10 years), 2004 (Orange Revolution, further, the decades of the 2014 year, the fighting of the 2014 years. The seizure of Crimea and the beginning of military-political confrontation between Russia and Ukraine). Incidentally, in all these years there were also presidential elections in Ukraine. Will this pattern continue 2024? Let's see.
