In Indonesia, the eruption of the IBU volcano took place, during which the ash columns rose to a height of more than 4,800 meters above sea level. Security measures have already been taken, and the authorities have begun the distribution of protective masks among the local population to protect against the possible impact of volcanic ash.
The IBU volcano, which is located in the province of North Maluka, threw out ash columns, which reached a height of about 3500 meters from the top. The observers noted that the ashes were moving west. The eruption lasted more than three minutes.
The local agency to soften the effects of natural disasters has already taken steps to assist the victims of 16 villages affected by the volcano eruption. Masks are distributed among them, and employees go to a place to check the condition of people in the region.
Residents of the IBU district and surrounding areas were called on to refrain from approaching closer than 2 km to volcano. They were also recommended to have protective products for the nose, mouth and eyes in the case of rain from volcanic ash.
Safety measures are aimed at minimizing the possible consequences of volcano eruption for the health and safety of the local population and tourists.
