The Russian delegation, headed by a member of the Committee of the Federation Council for International Affairs, arrived in Pyongyang, North Korea, May 20.
Representatives of the Russian Federation are planning to stay in North Korea until May 24 and plan to discuss parliamentary cooperation and planning for future meetings.
The delegation is headed by 80-year-old MP Hryhoriy Rapot, a member of the Committee on International Affairs. It is noted that the visit takes place in the context of expanding cooperation between Russia and North Korea after their leadership summit in September 2023.
US sanctions against Russian people and organizations that assisted in the supply of North Korean weapons to the Russian Federation have also become an object of attention. The US Ministry of Finance has imposed sanctions against two individuals from Russia and three Russian organizations in connection with these events.
Also, it should be noted that North Korea actively increases the production of shells and artillery weapons, which is believed to be put in the Russian Federation.
