Putin agreed to recover negotiations without demands

Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his readiness to restore the negotiation process with Ukraine without any preliminary conditions. This was stated by the Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov on Saturday, April 26.

According to Peskov, Putin made a corresponding statement during a meeting with US President Donald Trump Special Representative - Steve Witcoff. "In the course of yesterday, Vladimir Putin repeated with Trump's envoy Vitcoff that the Russian side was ready to restore the negotiation process with Ukraine without any preliminary conditions," the Kremlin spokesman said.

There is currently no additional information about the possible place, time or format of such negotiations. It is also unclear whether it is a return to any previous arrangements or the creation of a new negotiation track.

Ukraine has repeatedly stated that the restoration of negotiations is possible only if the Russian troops are completely withdrawal from its territory and the restoration of internationally recognized borders. Official Kyiv stresses that any concessions on sovereignty or territorial integrity are unacceptable.

At the same time, against the background of a continuous war and significant depletion of resources, the issue of negotiation remains sensitive both within Ukraine and in the international arena. The position of Kyiv Allies, including the US and EU countries, is to support Ukrainian conditions of peace based on the principles of the UN Charter.
