The Council adopted a draft law on a single roaming zone with the EU

Yesterday, February 23, 2024, deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine approved a bill that provides for the establishment of a single roaming zone with the countries of the European Union. This was reported at the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.

This bill, labeled 10265, is the first step for Ukraine on the way to digital visa waiver with the EU. It stipulates that Ukrainian citizens traveling to EU countries will be able to use their national mobile tariffs within 4 months without additional roaming costs.

European tourists will also be able to use their home tariffs in Ukraine. This is an important step towards European integration and creating a single digital market with the EU.

Earlier, European and Ukrainian operators provided free or available calls between EU countries and Ukraine on a voluntary basis. Last July, they concluded an agreement on the abolition of roaming payments for Ukrainian citizens for another 12 months.
