A member of the Republican Party of the United States and the possible candidate for the 2024 presidential election, Chris Christie, made an important statement that expressed his belief that the strengthening of US military assistance to Ukraine was strategic. On the air of Fox News, he said that the supply of weapons from the arsenals of the Pentagon to Ukraine brings "tenfold benefit" to Americans.
Christie emphasized the importance of continuing assistance to Ukraine and disclosed data on the US Department of Defense for military support from Kyiv, which accounts for 5% of the country's annual military budget. According to him, with this weapon the Armed Forces of Ukraine were able to destroy a large part of Russian military equipment on the battlefield.
The politician urged the US government to consider providing even more support to Ukraine that would help fulfill promises given to the Allies and partners of the country. He stressed that failure to fulfill such obligations could undermine the trust of other US allies in the country's promises and obligations.
Christie also recalled that the United States promised to support Ukraine in the event of a threat to its territorial integrity in the early 1990s when the country abandoned nuclear weapons. He urged the United States to fulfill its obligations to the Ukrainian partner as Ukraine has already fulfilled its part of the agreement.
