Russia continues to develop technological cooperation with North Korea despite the UN resolution

Scientific and technical cooperation between Russia and North Korea, which has been banned since 2016 by a separate resolution of the UN Security Council, continues to develop actively. Last week, the eighth meeting of the Intergovernmental Committee on Trade, Economic and Scientific and Technical Cooperation between North Korea and Russia took place in Moscow. After that, the meeting was returned to Pyongyana's scientific and technical delegation under the guidance of the head of the State Commission for Science and Technology.

During his visit to Russia, he also met with Russian Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov. The members of the North Korea delegation visited a number of scientific institutions in Moscow, including the Moscow State University and the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Although the 2321 UN Security Council resolved cooperation in the field of science and technologies with North Korea, with the exception of medical purposes, these restrictions do not interfere with Russia and North Korea to expand their relationships in this area.
