The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia has threatened the break of diplomatic relations with the United States in the event of confiscation of Russian assets or aggravation of military conflict in Ukraine. This was reported by the Deputy Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Ryabkov.
"We are ready for any scenario, and the US should not have the illusion if it exists, that Russia, which is called, holds both hands for diplomatic with this state," Ryabkov emphasized.
He added that, despite his readiness for various scenarios, Moscow does not plan to initiate a break in diplomatic relations, since the US and Russia play a "central role" in ensuring international security and strategic stability.
The message comes against the background of information that US Presidential Administration Joe Baiden has started negotiations with allies to use frozen Russian assets to provide military assistance to Ukraine. According to some information, these negotiations became urgent because of difficulties in the congress to allocate assistance in Kiev.
The US administration is considering the use of frozen Russian assets intended for confiscation to support Ukraine, as the country is faced with a significant threat to Russia. The option of using these assets to develop a strategy for the second anniversary of Russia's invasion of Ukraine is considered.
