According to the report of the Main Intelligence Administration of the Ministry of Defense, the invaders skillfully manipulate the information space in the temporarily occupied territories, embodying their strategies for influence. Due to the establishment of more than 2000 Russian mobile towers, they actively spread Kremlin propaganda and ideology, as well as restore cultural heritage objects, including theaters, cinemas and other cultural studies, in order to assign the population to accept the Russian narrative. These measures are especially aimed at young people.
According to the representative of the Main Intelligence Department of the Moscow region Vadim Skibitsky, the Russian authorities dominates in Lugansk, Donetsk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhya regions, fully controlling the information space through the communication networks and manipulating the cultural environment.
The invaders actively use cultural values, restoring and creating cultural objects that contribute to the spread of propaganda of the Russian Federation. They support a wide range of educational and cultural events, including textbooks, books and educational programs that are aimed at supporting Russian influence and misinformation.
In addition, the invaders are actively spreading fake news and misinformation, including creating fictional stories about events in Ukrainian cities and spreading fictional information reports about changes in the political landscape of Ukraine. This strategy is intended to save society and create a negative mood among the population.
In particular, Russian propaganda actively disseminates information about the planned European Union war with the Russian Federation because of the Donbass situation, using distorted data and fake news. Such actions are aimed at creating international conflicts and further deepening military confrontation.
