The successful defense of Ukraine against Russian invaders continues through an effective strategy and combat skills. Recent attacks on key radar systems of the Russian army, in particular a complex of artillery intelligence and counter-battery struggle "Zoo-1", testify.
Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to destroy Russian military equipment, including tanks, armored vehicles and artillery systems for two years of war. However, in addition to the main goals, Ukrainian defenders from time to time strike on unique objects of the Russian military-industrial complex.
Recently in Donetsk region the radar equipment "Zoo-1" was found and destroyed, which was hidden by the occupiers in the area of Kodma village of Bakhmut territorial community.
This operation was attended by air intelligence of the Zaysta Border Service Brigade, who used a blower drone of the domestic Vampire production.
The technologically sophisticated radar complex "Zoo-1" was developed in the Soviet times, but was completed only in the early XXI century. Ukraine became the first to complete the work on this system by presenting the Zoo-2. However, Zoo-1 is also known as the Russian reconnaissance complex, which is currently used in Russian control batteries and artillery intelligence.
The main function of the Zoo-1 is to support artillery, to adjust the fire and to intelligence of firing positions of the enemy. This complex allows for reconnaissance work even during massive artillery attacks, maintaining efficiency and mobility.
Zoo-1 radar complex consists of a radar station, a set of equipment and a power plant, has a speed of movement up to 62 km/h and a reserve of the track chassis-500 km.
Although the exact number of such complexes in Russian troops is unknown, their value is estimated at tens of millions of dollars. The loss of each Zoo-1 becomes a serious problem for Russian invaders and the success of Ukraine's defense forces.
