Romania said that during a recent meeting in Saudi Arabia, Russian officials demanded that the United States had partially withdrawing NATO troops from Eastern Europe. The head of the Romanian Presidential apparatus and the defense advisor Christian Dyaconscu told this. He stressed that although the US delegation rejected this requirement, it cannot be ruled out that Washington could agree in Russia in the future.
Dyaconscu also noted that the visits of the UK Prime Minister Kira Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron to Washington will be aimed at convincing US President Donald Trump next week.
It is noted that the last steps of Trump's administration, including the refusal of Ukraine to NATO membership and intention to normalize relations with Russia, are of concern in the Eastern Member States of the Alliance.
