The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov reported a new appointment at the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Major General Andriy Gnatov was appointed Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces. This step, which took place on February 27, 2025, is important for strengthening Ukraine's defense capability in the conditions of a long war.
Andriy Hnatov, who has more than 27 years of service experience in the army, has held various important positions in the Armed Forces. He served from the commander of the Marine Corps to the Commander of the United States and troops of the East. Due to its considerable experience and leadership qualities, Gnatov has become one of the key specialists in the Defense System of Ukraine.
In a new position, he will be responsible for generation of forces and cooperation with international partners, which is an important aspect for strengthening the country's defense. Minister Umerov emphasized that Gnatov has great potential to strengthen Ukraine's defense capability through his knowledge and skills.
This appointment also emphasizes the importance of improving the efficiency of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in military conditions, since cooperation with international partners, as well as strategic formation of forces is one of the priorities for strengthening the defense of the state.
