The Security Service of Ukraine has successfully stopped the raider gang in Kiev, which planned to seize a legal parking business in the capital. The group included 15 people, including representatives of criminality from the post -Soviet countries.
The gang members used the methods of violence and threats to force the owners of parking sites to abandon their businesses. The controlled gangs illegally gained profit, depriving the true owners of their property.
The group received millions of profits on a monthly basis, some of which were sent for the replenishment of the "thieves' cashier". During the special operation, law enforcement officers detained six suspects who received money from the victim.
During the searches in the apartments of the malefactors, law enforcement officers seized firearms, ammunition, mobile phones, computers, fictitious seals of firms, more than half a million cash in UAH equivalent and documents confirming illegal activities. The detainees were informed of suspicion of articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: extortion committed by an organized group in the conditions of martial law and creation, management of a criminal community or criminal organization, as well as participation in it. Another detainee was additionally charged with weapons illegally handling.
Thus, the SBU again demonstrated success in combating organized crime and raiding, which can significantly increase the level of security and stability in the business environment.
