Trump's headquarters said that the ceasefire in Lebanon was made possible by his victory

Israel and Lebanon have reached an agreement on the cessation of hostilities, which provides for the gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces from Lebanon within 60 days. US President-elect Donald Trump's representatives say the deal was a result of his election victory.

According to Michael Waltz, whom Trump plans to appoint as national security adviser, it was Trump's coming to power that helped the parties to the conflict to unite to achieve peace.

"Everyone is sitting at the negotiating table thanks to President Trump. His resounding victory sent a clear signal to the world: chaos will no longer be tolerated. This is a significant step towards the stabilization of the Middle East," Volz wrote on Kh.'s social network.

He also emphasized that the Iranian regime is a key source of instability in the region through its support for terrorist groups such as Hezbollah.

"We will not tolerate a status quo in which Iran finances terrorism and spreads chaos in the region," Volz said.

Earlier, the acting US President Joe Biden confirmed the fact of the conclusion of a temporary truce between Israel and the terrorist group Hezbollah. He noted that the agreement is an important step towards reducing tensions in the region, which has been suffering from conflicts for a long time.

During operations in southern Lebanon, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) found that a significant part of Hezbollah's weapons, namely 60-70%, was of Russian origin. This raises additional questions about Russia's influence on destabilizing the situation in the region.

The ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon is temporary, but the parties express hope for a long-term de-escalation of the conflict.
