The states encourage other countries to reduce their dependence on energy carriers from the Russian Federation

The Deputy Spokesman of the US State Department, Vedant Patel, congratulated European countries for their efforts in the direction of expanding sources of energy supply and reducing dependence on Russian energy carriers. He emphasized the importance of diversifying energy consumption by any country and limiting dependence on Russian energy.

Patel commented on Turkey's cooperation with the American company ExxonMobil on the expansion of gas supply opportunities. He also emphasized Turkey's important role as the host of the Southern Gas Corridor, which helped expand energy supplies to Europe and avoid dependence on Russia. It was also noted that Turkey has a variety of LNG hubs that allow the country to receive tankers, including those arriving from the United States, especially after the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
