Switzerland plans to hold a two -day high -level conference to reach peace in Ukraine. The event will take place on June 15-16 with the participation of the Swiss government.
Earlier this year, the Swiss side announced a peaceful summit at the request of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky. Since then, they have negotiated with the European Union, Member States of G7 and other countries such as China and India to ensure their support.
"There is currently sufficient international support for a high -level conference to launch a peaceful process," the Federal Council said in a statement.
The place of the conference will be the resort of Burgestok in the canton of Nidwalden near the city of Lucerne. The main purpose of the event is to create a favorable environment for a comprehensive and strong peace in Ukraine, as well as the development of a "specific road map" for Russia's participation in the peace process.
Currently, the Swiss authorities have not yet published a full list of conference participants.
