The Slovak ex-leadership illegally transferred MiG-29 fighters and Kub anti-aircraft missiles to Ukraine

The Slovak military leadership took decisive steps regarding the situation with the transfer of military equipment to Ukraine during the previous government. The country's Ministry of Defense filed a lawsuit against former Prime Minister Eduard Geger and ex-Defense Minister Yaroslav Nagy, accusing them of actions that, in their opinion, endangered national security.

Slovakia is suing its predecessors over the transfer to Ukraine of MiG-29 fighter jets and components of the Cube air defense system in March 2023.

This was reported by the local publication Dennikn.

The lawsuit is filed by the Ministry of Defense. A representative of the department stated that they consider the decision of ex-prime minister Eduard Geger and ex-minister of defense Yaroslav Nady to be sabotage, abuse of official authority and abuse of duties, which endangered the country's defense capability.

"After this decision, the sky remained unprotected, and the citizens were under threat," said Ihor Melicher.

They appeal to the fact that the Geger government was transitional and therefore had limited powers. And the documents were incorrectly executed.

It was officially reported that 13 fighters were handed over.
