Slovenia will send €1.5 million to Ukraine for demining by the end of the year

Slovenia promises to transfer one and a half million euros to Ukraine by the end of this year to finance humanitarian demining. This was announced by the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine on December 4.

The Minister of Economy of Ukraine, Yuliya Svyridenko, noted that the specified funds will be sent to provide sappers of the State Emergency Service and the State Special Transport Service with the necessary equipment and protective equipment. This will contribute to speeding up the process of demining territories from explosive substances and saving the lives of Ukrainian citizens.

The agreement on humanitarian aid was concluded between Ukraine and Slovenia in Ljubljana on December 4. Minister Yuliya Svyridenko participated in the signing ceremony online.

Ukraine is considered one of the most mined countries in the world, and about a third of its territory, which is about 174 thousand square kilometers, is considered potentially dangerous. The country's government has expressed its intention to return 80% of these lands to economic use within the next ten years.
