The Union of Britain and Germany Increases Europe's defense without the US

The United Kingdom and Germany are completing the preparation of a bilateral agreement, which provides for mutual assistance in the event of a threat to one of the countries. About it reports Politico with reference to five informed sources.

The document will be a logical continuation of the cooperation initiated last summer by British Prime Minister Kir Starm and German Chancellor Olaf Soltz. In a joint declaration, the leaders of the two countries promised closer cooperation in the fields of peace, security and economics.

The agreement is expected to sign on July 17, before the beginning of the summer vacations of the parliaments of both states. According to London officials, the text is almost ready.

A separate section of the document is based on Trinity House last year, which states that a strategic threat to one of the countries will be considered as a threat to another. This means that Germany will receive a point of mutual security with both European nuclear powers - Britain and France, which corresponds to the plans of the new Chancellor Friedrich Merz to strengthen Europe's defense capability without orientation only in the United States.

In addition, the future contract will contain agreements in the fields of research, innovation, transport and, in particular, the fight against illegal migration. This is a particularly sensitive issue for the Government of Kir Starmer, which is under pressure from both legal and illegal migration.

The German Foreign Ministry representative stressed that the agreement will cover the "full range of relations" between countries.

In parallel in Europe, military readiness is increasing against the background of the threat from Russia. In Denmark, for example, from July 1, women will be called for conscript with men. According to the head of the conscription Colonel Kennene Streh, this is the necessary step because of the deterioration of the situation with safety.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte also urged the Alliance to prepare for a possible war. According to him, Russia can be prepared to attack three to five years. He emphasized the importance of long -term support for Ukraine and preventing repetition of such aggression by the Kremlin in the future.
