The US is ready for new sanctions against Russia to stop aggression

The United States is ready to impose new sanctions against Russia as needed to increase pressure and eventually stop aggression. This was stated by US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken at a joint press conference with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.

"We also consider the actions of countries that support the Russian defense-industrial base, in particular China. As President Biden has made it clear, we are not really concerned about the fact that China supplies Russia's weapons-they do not do it," Blinken said. However, he said, Beijing provides important support for the Russian defense industrial base. About 70% of the machines imported by Russia come from China, 90% of microelectronics - from China, which allows Russia to support the military machine and continue the war.

"We need to put an end to this. And we do and do everything you need," Blinken emphasized.

Last week, US Presidential Administration, Joe Biden, introduced a new round of sanctions against Russia, including a significant expansion of pressure on foreign banks that help finance war.

The State Department has already stated that they consider additional measures against Chinese companies that supply goods for the Russian defense industry.
