The USA, South Korea and Japan are planning joint exercises with all types of troops

The United States, South Korea and Japan plan to hold their first large -scale trilateral military training in late June. These exercises, known as Freedom Edge, will include the units of the Land Forces, the Navy, the Air Force and the Cyberwar. The training plan was agreed by the parties at the Sangri-La Dialogue Dialogue Forum in Singapore, where they discussed strategic partnerships in order to strengthen security in the region, especially in the context of threats from North Korea.

The name Freedom Edge comes from two more large -scale exercises that are already conducted separately with South Korea (Freedom Shield) and Japan (Keen Edge).

These exercises will cover the expanses of air, seas, underwater space and cyberspace to work out coordination and joint response to potential threats. Due to the significant provocations from North Korea and the expected visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to the DPRK, the exercise participants are also preparing for possible new challenges for the security of the region.

Currently, US, South Korea and Japan military teams are identifying the details of future maneuvers, including considering the participation of the US USS Theodore Roosevelt.
