The US Presidential Administration Donald Trump has proposed to Ukraine to transfer to the US side the right to own 50% of the country's rare earth minerals. According to US officials, US Finance Minister Scott Bessent presented Zelensky with an appropriate proposal during a meeting in Kiev. After the negotiations, the Ukrainian president reported that his team will analyze all aspects of the document before further discussions at the Munich Conference on Security, where Zelensky met with Vice President Jay Vice Jay Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and other American officials.

Zelensky stressed that the document is only a memorandum between the US and Ukraine, not a full -fledged security agreement. Consultations are currently underway on possible changes in the text of the proposal.
