The US has suspended the supply of ammunition to Israel for the first time since the beginning of the Hamas invasion

Last week, the United States suspended the supply of their ammunition to Israel, which caused anxiety in the Israeli government. Israeli officials reported this to Axios. According to them, it is the first termination of deliveries from October 2023, when Hamas attacked the territory of Israel.

The White House does not comment on this decision. AXIOS representatives tried to get comments from the White House, the US State Department, the Pentagon and the Office of the Israeli Prime Minister, but never received answers. However, they associate this decision with a number of differences between the US and Israel regarding further fighting in the Gaza Sector.

Recently, US President Joe Biden has criticized Americans and members of his own party, who believe that Israel violates humanitarian law in the Gaza Sector and kills civilian populations using US weapons. These factors may have contributed to the decision to stop weapons.

Israel is not ready to stop the fighting, but the authorities are considering the possibility of a temporary truce from Hamas to release the prisoners. After that, they plan to operate in the Palestinian city of Rafach in the south of the Gaza Sector. However, the US is afraid that this can provoke a humanitarian crisis because of a large number of migrants looking for asylum there.

President Biden warned that the invasion of the Rafah would be a "red line" for the Israeli government and urged him to pay more attention to the civilian population. The United States also prepares sanctions against one of the units of the Israeli army for violation of the rights of Palestinians.
