The American Aerospace Company Maxar Technologies has stopped providing Ukraine with access to its satellite images. The reason for this decision was called "administrative request", but in fact it was the result of a ban on the US government to provide intelligence for Kiev.
According to sources, such a restriction was introduced by the President Donald Trump administration through the US Department of State. From now on, US companies and commercial satellite services are prohibited from providing Ukraine with both government and private.
Maxar satellite images play an important role in military planning and collecting intelligence. Ukraine has actively used this data to analyze the situation on the battlefield, monitor the Russian troops and evaluate the destruction of infrastructure. Losing access to such images significantly complicates the process of prompt decision -making and coordination of actions at the front.
Although Maxar is one of the largest suppliers of commercial satellite images, Ukraine still has access to other services, including European and private companies that can provide similar data. Ukraine also cooperates with private satellite operators and EU partners to obtain the information you need.
