In Ukraine, pensioners may face new rules for detention from pensions by court decisions. The Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine announces the project of the law, which provides for the limit of such deductions - from 20% to 50% of pension payments.
Pensions will be used in cases where the pensioner has mistakenly calculated unnecessary funds due to abuse or violation of the law. In particular, it is about: payment of alimony; compensation for losses due to theft of property of enterprises and organizations; compensation for damage caused by injury, other health injuries or in connection with the death of the victim; Return over pay. The project of the Law entitled "On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine on the Preservation of the Minimum Pension Payment after Pension Dedication, Indexation of Pensions to Certain Categories of Persons, and Clarifying the Method of Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine" stipulates that the detention is permitted only if the pension is not required. At the same time, pensioners will have the right to refuse this guarantee. In other circumstances, the amount of monthly deductions should not exceed 20% of the total pension.
Thus, the new rules are intended to balance the need to return unnecessary payments with the protection of minimum income of pensioners.
