The central reconnaissance department (CIA) of the United States confirmed the death of 21-year-old Michael Gloss, son of top official Juliana Gallinina Gloss, during the war in Ukraine. According to NBC News, he died, fighting on the side of the Russian invaders.
Michael Gloss had problems with mental health, and, according to CIA representatives, the tragedy became personal pain for the family. The CIA spokesman stressed that this event is a private business of the Gloss family and is not related to national security.
According to information that was first released by Russian sources and social networks of the deceased, Michael published photos from Red Square and expressed support for the Russian army, criticizing the Ukrainian forces and Western media.
The official obituary of the family does not mention Michael's involvement in hostilities or in his relations with Russia. It states that Michael died "while traveling Eastern Europe." The CIA, in turn, emphasized the depth of the personal tragedy of the family and called for respect for their private life.
